Procuring Local Produce for Families Living in Rural Communities in Northern New Mexico

NYP was founded by teens in 2009 & continues today as a partner in the Northern New Mexico Emergency Food Network Coalition.

Our mission drives us to be of service in our community, the heart of our organization is in the soil we tend (our garden in Abiquiu), the youth we serve, (ages 10-21), & our projects that honor the past & look toward the future. Our Covid-19 Response has led us to partner with local farmers to procure produce for our Green Gifts: bags with seasonal vegetables, fruit, greens, as well as herbs from the NYP Garden.

Senior Youth Interns are helping our community mitigate food insecurity while creating relevant ways to teach youth & families how to grow food at home while providing the tools, resources, & support to do so. We are hoping to continue these important efforts while continuing our Youth Paid Internship, Garden & Art Programmings! Thank you for supporting us!
